.ISM Quarterly is a magazine out of Southern California.
They exhibit work by newcomers and recognized artists alike. Mark Ryden and Derek Hess are a couple of the people they namecheck as contributors. Looks like a solid publication give em a shout.

.ISM – paper with words, photography, and art, glued together almost like a magazine – is the only periodical of its kind whose entire content is driven by the submissions of its readership, including a free cd in every issue of music/films submitted by musicians/filmmakers.

.ISM receives submissions from around the world. And through the distribution to our subscribers, newsstands and specialty relailers, reaches a national audience of over 20,000, with an average of 5 readers per copy.

“For the People, by the People” comes close — “For the Artist, by the Artist” comes closer.
