Music: Never Too Much

I just scored a free CD Single of Luther Vandross’ new song “Take You Out” recently, and listened to it for the first time last night. Just now I read that Luther has passed away.
Soft as it may sound I’m into Luther Vandross like I’m into Ronnie James Dio, and I am beyond bummed out by his passing. I don’t like a great deal of his middle of the road pop stuff but when he rocked that Schmoove R&B, damn. You can’t fuck with that. Hell he was even invited to sing on Bowie’s “Young Americans” after he dropped an impromptu verse on David Bowie when he came by to meet a friend.
Never Too Much is probably one of my favorite songs of all time, and I was pleasantly suprised to see it included in GTA:Vice City. He could most definitely fuck shit up with that voice. When he had a stroke back in 2003 and was in a coma, I even sent him a get well soon card.
Anyways, I just had to stop everything for a minute and be all “Shit, Luther’s Dead…Long Live R&B”
