Old School NYC Street Artist Rep1 (MikaL) will be opening a show tomorrow night with 2 other Eithiopian artists at the Orchard Street Gallery in Manhattan. It promises to be a very cool mix of art and styles.

MikaL (REP1)
For the past few years, Mikal aka Rep1 has exploded on to the scene with his street art. Now other print and media outlets have realized his art is a trend to watch. REP1’s three headed artwork was prominently displayed on CNN’s Website in a February 23, 2004 article entitled “Artist Ensure Their Mark Sticks” by Al Matthews. The Article is about the worldwide
phenomenon of street art and sticker art. Rep1 is noted for his “quasi-political art work”.

BeniamNYC
Prepare yourself for a festival of color, floral and graphic delights. Beniam, the designer who made a big splash on thepages of HELM magazine has created a line of clothing to make any women feel like a starlet, Beniam prefers to keep his designs top secret until they are unveiled in an amazing show that leaves you rapt with seduction.

Ezra Wube
Ezra has been slowly, steadily carving out a singular space in the cutthroat New York art world. He has an unmistakable talent for bringing very disparate themes and ideas together on a single canvas, infusing elements of autobiography, Ethiopian religious art, abstract expressionism and jarring elements of street culture and the absurd. One of his most captivating works portrays an old man staring into the sky, where, impossibly, a giant flower has bloomed. The art work is
called Jolie, after Ezra’s girlfriend, who is also an artist.
