Artist Support: Dateline Singapore

OneTwoDelta is a illustrator and street artist in Singapore. I’d posted some of his work to the StreetRes Van project a little while ago. He wrote in to tell us about a problem they’re having over Singapore way so read on:

I’m from Singapore, a cosmopolitan country in southeast asia. I am currently workin on an event,’Off the Wall’ with Singapore Art Museum, in conjunction with International Museum Day followed by a party on the 27th May.
Everything is going on crazy with our graff and murals coming to life. We are painting the museum’s facade which is a historical monument. It will go for maintenance work on July. In the meanwhile we have proposed to have graffiti on massive scale, also to tie in with its current exhibition, Love @Fiction; a contemporary exhibition that supports Urban Art. Our work on the facade is goin on aggressively right now.
We are 11 artists who are trying to bring street art and graffiti to a new level and better acceptance.

In some turn of event, the Preservation and Monument authority has expressed uneasiness to our work and cause. We were informed to be ready for our work to be buffed off. This is quite redundant as it will proceed for scheduled paintjob in few months anyway. We are calling for support and publicity which in turn we hope will influence the authority to review the situation before they make their disapproval official. We have been painting the facade from Saturday, and have garnered
positive response from visitors. We just need these authority to realise the positive interest we have generated.
We are trying hard to get media support locally here in Singapore as well as international ones we considered like yours.

Spread the word StreetRezzers and be sure to tell your favorite blogs about the message too.
