The Miss Rockaway Armada is a group of artists, performers, dreamers
and doers from all parts of the country. Last year they spent months
gathering resources to build a floating home/art project to travel
down the Mississippi River, all the while stopping to meet people,
share skills, perform, swap stories, and otherwise engage in various
exchanges. However, they have not reached the end of their
journey…the promised land of New Orleans. This summer they are
gearing up to pick up where they left off, armed with experience and a
renewed spirit they are ready to tackle the Big Muddy again and are
eager to see who and what they will encounter as they weave the thread
that is becoming the tale of the Miss Rockaway. As part of efforts to
raise funding to continue this journey, the Miss Rockaway Aramada and
their friends are having an art exhibition. The show will feature work
from many Armada members, some created while on the river or as a
direct result. Other work will be featured, including prints from
Swoon Dennis McNett Elbow Toe JMR Phil Andrews The Barnstormers Visual Resistance K.See KV Abandonview Celso Gore B Klepto Iminentdisaster HOPE LOVE BILLY The 62 RIPO Tod Seelie Thomas Beale Plasmaslugs Christian Dente Martin Mazorra Dave Ellis and more…
There you go should be a hot shit show judging by the cadre of artists contributing, the best part of it all is that it’s AFFORDABLE! Swoon prints?!? I’ll be there!
