is Alvin and the chipmunks success a shock ?

i just wonder what people think because critics were mad on the success of "alvin and the chipmunks the squeakquel" movie…

the first one was awasome it cost 60 million and made 360 total [then another 101 million from DVD].
sequals are many times failures but the second one cost 75 million and made 400 million by now [and still making millions weekly]

just wonder what people think…is it kind of shocking for some ? [both movies are great BTW].

NO

chipmunks=pretty colors, loud noises, attraction for kids and parents….$ in the bank

PEOPLE ARE STUPID AND SEE CRAPPY MOVIES

It was sorta cute and it’s a movie parents ain’t afraid to let their kids see. And then little kids really like the chipmunks.

I liked both movies ok. They ain’t my favourite or nothin, and they are completely predictable, but still I laughed and enjoyed em.

Well, family movies usually make the most .I mean there’s the kids that see it, then there’s the people taking them. lol Also there’s people who remember then from the late 50′s through the 60′s and then again in the 80′s – 90′s. the people who grew up with them might see the movie for nostalgia. so it’s not really a shock to me. a lot of critics SHlT their pants when the first one came out and had to change their diapers. lol

Both were awful movies. Success has nothing to do with audience numbers.

its pretty much what ThatP said, most of the comments about is "cute singing talking animals" people these days don’t seem to care about quailty in movies just sex appeal, cuteness, graphics etc
