The major items that skips cannot take include large appliances like fridges/ freezers/ TVs, tyres, liquids and anything containing asbestos or hazardous material. Other items that arent accepted by our skips are batteries, oil, large tree trunks and large amounts of plasterboard. You will find these items are standard across most skip companies to be not allowed in the skip but we can advise you on how to get rid of these products in the correct way.
If youre tidying your house then general waste such as old furniture or decorations like mirrors or picture frames would be perfect for placing in a skip. Anything lying around your house or garden is more than likely to be fine to put in a skip as long as you remember that they cannot take away any hazardous materials. Larger skips are designed for larger bulky items and should not be filled with heavy materials as the skip truck may not be able to pick up the skip if its too heavy.
